BATON ROUGE, La. — MMR proudly partnered with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in May and June to provide free skin and oral cancer screenings to employees at its Baton Rouge, Broussard and Belle Chasse district offices. A total of 111 employees signed up for vital screenings across MMR’s Louisiana district offices.

Employees with abnormal findings were referred to a specialty clinic and assisted by a Cancer Center nurse navigator to receive individual support and guidance. Participating employees received a complimentary T-Shirt as well as valuable information about skin and oral cancer prevention.

MMR is a proud corporate partner of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and has participated in its Prevention on the Go — Workplace Program since 2018. The program provides cancer screening services to workplaces, making it easier for employees to access cancer care services.

In 2023, MMR honored the memory of late coworker and friend, Holly Hollis Stars, by establishing an endowment supporting the Prevention on the Go Program. The endowment honors Holly’s enduring legacy and courageous battle against stage four triple-negative breast cancer.

MMR remains committed to promoting employee health and wellness. For more information about Prevention on the Go visit: https://marybird.org/services/get-screened/
