James B. Pepper Rutland | MMR Receives Awards of Excellence, Merit Awards for Outstanding Project Performance by ABC

MMR was recognized by the Baton Rouge and New Orleans chapters of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for its superior safety standards and outstanding performance on several notable projects in Louisiana and Texas.

MMR received six Excellence Awards, the highest honor a project can achieve, two Merit Awards, the second highest honor a project can achieve, and a Diamond STEP Award, presented for outstanding safety practices.

“We are honored to be recognized by ABC for excelling in safety, quality and project execution.” said President/CEO James B. “Pepper” Rutland. “MMR remains committed to placing safety and quality at the forefront all operations, and this recognition is a testament to the ingenuity, dedication and superior training of our workforce.”

The Excellence in Construction Awards honor highly innovative, outstanding construction projects and world-class safety, inclusion diversity and equity programs. MMR’s winning projects below have been nominated for national recognition in March at the ABC National Convention in Kissimmee, Fl.

Winning Projects: Dow Frigate Project, Plaquemine La.

MMR was contracted by Dow for a unique project to provide construction management, execution and commissioning assistance for the electrical and instrumentation portion of their new Alkoxylation unit also known as project Frigate in Plaquemine, Louisiana.

ExxonMobil Mississippi River Feeder Installation, Baton Rouge, La.

Excellence Award, ABC Bayou Chapter

MMR was contracted by ExxonMobil to provide construction management, execution and commissioning assistance for the electrical portion of their high voltage feeder cable installation under the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

ExxonMobil QAL HVAC Modification, Baton Rouge, La.

Merit Award, ABC Pelican Chapter

MMR was contracted by Moore Construction in affiliation with ExxonMobil to provide construction management, execution and commissioning assistance for the electrical and instrumentation portion of their QAL HVAC Modification in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Calcasieu Pass LNG Project, Cameron, La.

Excellence Award, ABC Bayou Chapter

Merit Award, ABC Pelican Chapter

MMR was selected to install electrical components and perform the integration of electrical systems for the construction, commissioning, and start-up phases for the Calcasieu Pass LNG Project. Calcasieu Pass holds the global record for the fastest large-scale greenfield LNG facility to ever be built, moving from FID to LNG production in just 29 months.

Gulf Coast Growth Ventures Project, Gregory, Tx.

Excellence Award, ABC Bayou Chapter

Gulf Coast Growth Ventures, LLC. is a joint venture created by ExxonMobil and SABIC to propel construction of a plastics manufacturing facility in San Patricio County, Texas. MMR was enlisted to perform electrical installation and site-wide civil services, in addition to training and support for over 5,000 employees working on the site. In addition to receiving the ABC Excellence award, MMR’s work has garnered several other awards, including the South Texas Industrial Industry Safety Excellence Award and a safety recognition award presented by Gulf Coast Growth Ventures.

STEP Diamond Safety Designation

ABC’s world-class STEP safety management system awards companies for maintaining exceptional safety standards. MMR is proud to announce its Diamond Level achievement, maintaining an exceptional level of safety that ranks 655% higher than the industry average.
